Liberty Enlightening the World, lebih dikenal dengan nama Statue of Liberty atau Patung Liberty dalam bahasa Indonesia, adalah suatu patung berukuran raksasa yang terletak di Pulau Liberty, di muara Sungai Hudson di New York Harbor, Amerika Serikat.

Patung ini dihadiahkan Perancis untuk Amerika Serikat pada akhir abad ke-19 dan merupakan suatu simbol selamat datang untuk pengunjung, imigran dan orang Amerika yang kembali.

Patung perunggu yang diresmikan pada tanggal 28 Oktober 1886 ini merupakan hadiah seratus tahun kemerdekaan Amerika Serikat dan merupakan ungkapan persahabatan antara kedua negara.

Pemahat patung adalah Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, dan Gustave Eiffel (desainer Menara Eiffel) merancang struktur penyangga dalamnya. Patung Liberty adalah salah satu lambang AS yang paling terkenal di seluruh dunia, dan melambangkan kemerdekaan dan kebebasan dari tekanan.

Dan pada tanggal 1984 patung Liberty masuk dalam daftar Situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO

Monumen Nasional atau yang populer disingkat dengan Monas atau Tugu Monas adalah monumen peringatan yang tingginya mencapai 132 meter ( 433 kaki ) yang didirikan untuk mengenang perlawanan dan jasa perjuangan rakyat Indonesia untuk merebut kemerdekaan dari pemerintahan kolonial Hindia Belanda.

Pembangunan monumen ini dimulai pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1961 di bawah perintah Presiden Sukarno.

Dan dibuka untuk umum pada tanggal 12 Juli 1975. Tugu ini dimahkotai lidah api yang dilapisi lempengan emas yang melambangkan semangat perjuangan yang menyala-nyala.

Monumen Nasional terletak tepat di tengah Lapangan Medan Merdeka, Jakarta Pusat. Monumen dan museum ini dibuka setiap hari mulai pukul 08.00 - 15.00 Waktu Indonesia Barat. Pada hari Senin pekan terakhir setiap bulannya

Sejarah Perfilm an Indonesia Periode 1998 - sekarang

Periode 1998 - sekarang

 

Era ini dianggap sebagai era kebangkitan perfilman nasional. Kebangkitan ini ditunjukkan dari kondisi perfilman Indonesia yang mengalami pertumbuhan jumlah produksi yang menggembirakan. Film pertama yang muncul di era ini adalah Cinta dalam Sepotong Roti karya Garin Nugroho. Setelah itu muncul Mira Lesmana dengan Petualangan Sherina dan Rudi Soedjarwo dengan Ada Apa dengan Cinta? (AADC) yang sukses di pasaran. Hingga saat ini jumlah produksi film Indonesia terus meningkat pesat meski masih didominasi oleh tema-tema film horor dan film remaja. Pada tahun 2005, hadir Blitzmegaplex di dua kota besar di Indonesia, Jakarta dan Bandung. Kehadiran bioskop dengan konsep baru ini mengakhiri dominasi Cineplex yang dimiliki oleh kelompok 21 yang selama bertahun-tahun mendominasi penayangan film.

Di periode ini perfilman Indonesia bisa dikatakan mengalami mati suri dan hanya mampu memproduksi 2-3 film tiap tahun. Selain itu film-film Indonesia didominasi oleh film-film bertema seks yang meresahkan masyarakat. Kematian industri film ini juga ditunjang pesatnya perkembangan televisi swasta, serta munculnya teknologi VCD, LD dan DVD yang menjadi pesaing baru.

Bertepatan dengan era ini lahir pula UU No 8 Tahun 1992 tentang Perfilman yang mengatur peniadaan kewajiban izin produksi yang turut menyumbang surutnya produksi film. Kewajiban yang masih harus dilakukan hanyalah pendaftaran produksi yang bahkan prosesnya bisa dilakukan melalui surat-menyurat. Bahkan sejak Departemen Penerangan dibubarkan, nyaris tak ada lagi otoritas yang mengurusi dan bertanggungjawab terhadap proses produksi film nasional. Dampaknya ternyata kurang menguntungkan sehingga para pembuat film tidak lagi mendaftarkan filmnya sebelum mereka berproduksi sehingga mempersulit untuk memperoleh data produksi film Indonesia - baik yang utama maupun indie - secara akurat.

Pada era ini muncul juga buku mengenai perfilman Indonesia yaitu 'Layar Perak: 90 Tahun Bioskop di Indonesia yang terbit pada tahun 1992 dan mengupas tahapan perfilman Indonesia hanya sampai periode 1991.

Pada masa ini teknologi pembuatan film dan era perbioskopan mengalami kemajuan, meski di satu sisi juga mengalami persaingan dengan televisi (TVRI). Pada tahun 1978 didirikan Sinepleks Jakarta Theater oleh pengusaha Indonesia, Sudwikatmono menyusul dibangunnya Studio 21 pada tahun 1987. Akibat munculnya raksasa bioskop bermodal besar itu mengakibatkan terjadinya monopoli dan berimplikasi terhadap timbulnya krisis bagi bioskop - bioskop kecil dikarenakan jumlah penonton diserap secara besar-besaran oleh bioskop besar. Pada masa ini juga muncul fenomena pembajakan video tape.

Era ini dipengaruhi oleh gejolak politik yang diakibatkan oleh peristiwa G30S PKI yang membuat pengusaha bioskop mengalami dilema karena mekanisme peredaran film rusak akibat adanya gerakan anti imperialisme, sedangkan produksi film nasional masih sedikit sehingga pasokan untuk bioskop tidak mencukupi. Saat itu inflasi yang sangat tinggi melumpuhkan industri film. Kesulitan ini ditambah dengan kebijakan pemerintah mengadakan sanering pada tahun 1966 yang menyebabkan inflasi besar-besaran dan melumpuhkan daya beli masyarakat. Pada akhir era ini perfilman Indonesia cukup terbantu dengan membanjirnya film impor sehingga turut memulihkan bisnis perbioskopan dan juga meningkatkan animo masyarakat untuk menonton yang pada akhirnya meningkatkan jumlah penonton

Era ini ditandai dengan beberapa kejadian penting terutama menyangkut aspek politis, seperti aksi pengganyangan film-film yang disinyalir sebagai film yang menjadi agen imperialisme Amerika Serikat, pemboikotan, pencopotan reklame, hingga pembakaran gedung bioskop. Saat itu Jumlah bioskop mengalami penurunan sangat drastis akibat gejolak politik. Jika pada tahun 1964 terdapat 700 bioskop, pada tahun berikutnya, yakni tahun 1965 hanya tinggal tersisa 350 bioskop.

Hari Film Nasional diperingati oleh insan perfilman Indonesia setiap tanggal 30 Maret karena pada tepatnya tanggal 30 Maret 1950 adalah hari pertama pengambilan gambar film Darah & Doa atau Long March of Siliwangi yang disutradarai oleh Usmar Ismail. Hal ini disebabkana karena film ini dinilai sebagai film lokal pertama yang bercirikan Indonesia. Selain itu film ini juga merupakan fil pertama yang benar-benar disutradarai oleh orang Indonesia asli dan juga diproduksi oleh perusahaan film milik orang Indonesia asli yang bernama Perfini (Perusahaan Film Nasional Indonesia) dimana Usmar Ismail tercatat juga sebagai pendirinya.

Selain itu pada tahun 1951 diresmikan pula Metropole, bioskop termegah dan terbesar pada saat itu. Pada masa ini jumlah bioskop meningkat pesat dan sebagian besar dimiliki oleh kalangan non pribumi. Pada tahun 1955 terbentuklah Persatuan Pengusaha Bioskop Seluruh Indonesia dan Gabungan Pengusaha Bioskop Seluruh Indonesia (GAPEBI) yang akhirnya melebur menjadi Gabungan Bioskop Seluruh Indonesia (GABSI).

Pada masa itu selain PFN yang dimiliki oleh negara, terdapat dua perusahaan perfilman terbesar di Indonesia, yaitu Perfini dan Persari (dipimpin oleh Djamaluddin Malik.

Pada masa ini, produksi film di Indonesia dijadikan sebagai alat propaganda politik Jepang. Pemutaran fil di bioskop hanya dibatasi untuk penampilan film -film propaganda Jepang dan film-film Indonesia yang sudah ada sebelumnya, ehingga bisa dikatakan bahwa era ini bisa disebut sebagai era surutnya prodkusi film nasional.

Pada 1942 saja, Nippon Eigha Sha, perusahaan film Jepang yang beroperasi di Indonesia, hanya dapat memproduksi 3 film yaitu Pulo Inten, Bunga Semboja dan 1001 Malam.

Lenyapnya usaha swasta di bidang film dan sedikitnya produksi yang dihasilkan oleh studio yang dipimpin oleh Jepang dengan sendirinya mempersempit ruang gerak dan kesempatan hidup para artis dan karyawan film dan pembentukan bintang-bintang baru hampir tidak ada. Namun mereka yang sudah dilahirkan sebagai artis tidaklah dapat begitu saja meninggalkan profesinya. Satu-satunya jalan keluar untuk dapat terus mengembangkan dan memelihara bakat serta mempertahankan hidup adalah naik panggung sandiwara. Beberapa rombongan sandiwara profesional dari zaman itu antara lain adalah Bintang Surabaya, Pancawarna dan Cahaya Timur di Pulau Jawa. Selain itu sebuah kumpulan sandiwara amatir Maya didirikan, dimana didalamnya bernaung beberapa seniman-seniwati terpelajar dibawah pimpinan Usmar Ismail yang kelak menjadi Bapak Perfilman Nasional.

Era awal perfilman Indonesia ini diawali dengan berdirinya bioskop pertama di Indonesia pada 5 Desember 1900 di daerah Tanah Abang, Batavia dengan nama Gambar Idoep yang menayangkan berbagai film bisu.
Film pertama yang dibuat pertama kalinya di Indonesia adalah film bisu tahun 1926 yang berjudul Loetoeng Kasaroeng dan dibuat oleh sutradara Belanda G. Kruger dan L. Heuveldorp. Saat film ini dibuat dan dirilis, negara Indonesia belum ada dan masih merupakan Hindia Belanda, wilayah jajahan Kerajaan Belanda. Film ini dibuat dengan didukung oleh aktor lokal oleh Perusahaan Film Jawa NV di Bandung dan muncul pertama kalinya pada tanggal 31 Desember, 1926 di teater Elite and Majestic, Bandung.

Setelah sutradara Belanda memproduksi film lokal, berikutnya datang Wong bersaudara yang hijrah dari industri film Shanghai. Awalnya hanya Nelson Wong yang datang dan menyutradarai Lily van Java (1928) pada perusahaan South Sea Film Co. Kemudian kedua adiknya Joshua dan Otniel Wong menyusul dan mendirikan perusahaan Halimoen Film.

Sejak tahun 1931, pembuat film lokal mulai membuat film bicara. Percobaan pertama antara lain dilakukan oleh The Teng Chun dalam film perdananya Bunga Roos dari Tjikembang (1931) akan tetapi hasilnya amat buruk. Beberapa film yang lain pada saat itu antara lain film bicara pertama yang dibuat Halimoen Film yaitu Indonesie Malaise (1931).

Pada awal tahun 1934, Albert Balink, seorang wartawan Belanda yang tidak pernah terjun ke dunia film dan hanya mempelajari film lewat bacaan-bacaan, mengajak Wong Bersaudara untuk membuat film Pareh dan mendatangkan tokoh film dokumenter Belanda, Manus Franken, untuk membantu pembuatan film tersebut. Oleh karena latar belakang Franken yang sering membuat film dokumenter, maka banyak adegan dari film Pareh menampilkan keindahan alam Hindia Belanda. Film seperti ini rupanya tidak mempunyai daya tarik buat penonton film lokal karena dalam kesehariannya mereka sudah sering melihat gambar-gambar tersebut. Balink tidak menyerah dan kembali membuat perusahaan film ANIF (Gedung perusahaan film ANIF kini menjadi gedung PFN, terletak di kawasan Jatinegara) dengan dibantu oleh Wong bersaudara dan seorang wartawan pribumi yang bernama Saeroen. Akhirnya mereka memproduksi membuat film Terang Boelan (1934) yang berhasil menjadi film cerita lokal pertama yang mendapat sambutan yang luas dari kalangan penonton kelas bawah.

Sejarah Perfilman Indonesia

Perfilman Indonesia memiliki sejarah yang panjang dan sempat menjadi raja di negara sendiri pada tahun 1980-an, ketika film Indonesia merajai bioskop-bioskop lokal. Film-film yang terkenal pada saat itu antara lain, Catatan si Boy, Blok M dan masih banyak film lain. Bintang-bintang muda yang terkenal pada saat itu antara lain Onky Alexander, Meriam Bellina, Lydia Kandou, Nike Ardilla, Paramitha Rusady, Desy Ratnasari.

Pada tahun-tahun itu acara Festival Film Indonesia masih diadakan tiap tahun untuk memberikan penghargaan kepada insan film Indonesia pada saat itu. Tetapi karena satu dan lain hal perfilman Indonesia semakin jeblok pada tahun 90-an yang membuat hampir semua film Indonesia berkutat dalam tema-tema yang khusus orang dewasa. Pada saat itu film Indonesia sudah tidak menjadi tuan rumah lagi di negara sendiri. Film-film dari Hollywood dan Hong Kong telah merebut posisi tersebut.
Hal tersebut berlangsung sampai pada awal abad baru, muncul film Petualangan Sherina yang diperankan oleh Sherina Munaf, penyanyi cilik penuh bakat Indonesia. Film ini sebenarnya adalah film musikal yang diperuntukkan kepada anak-anak. Riri Riza dan Mira Lesmana yang berada di belakang layar berhasil membuat film ini menjadi tonggak kebangkitan kembali perfilman Indonesia. Antrian panjang di bioskop selama sebulan lebih menandakan kesuksesan film secara komersil.

Setelah itu muncul film film lain yang lain dengan segmen yang berbeda-beda yang juga sukses secara komersil, misalnya film Jelangkung yang merupakan tonggak tren film horor remaja yang juga bertengger di bioskop di Indonesia untuk waktu yang cukup lama. Selain itu masih ada film Ada Apa dengan Cinta? yang mengorbitkan sosok Dian Sastrowardoyo dan Nicholas Saputra ke kancah perfilman yang merupakan film romance remaja. Sejak saat itu berbagai film dengan tema serupa yang dengan film Petualangan Sherina (film oleh Joshua, Tina Toon), yang mirip dengan Jelangkung (Di Sini Ada Setan, Tusuk Jelangkung), dan juga romance remaja seperti Biarkan Bintang Menari, Eiffel I'm in Love. Ada juga beberapa film dengan tema yang agak berbeda seperti Arisan! oleh Nia Dinata.

Selain film-film komersil itu juga ada banyak film film nonkomersil yang berhasil memenangkan penghargaan di mana-mana yang berjudul Pasir Berbisik yang menampilkan Dian Sastrowardoyo dengan Christine Hakim dan Didi Petet. Selain dari itu ada juga film yang dimainkan oleh Christine Hakim seperti Daun di Atas Bantal yang menceritakan tentang kehidupan anak jalanan. Tersebut juga film-film Garin Nugroho yang lainnya, seperti Aku Ingin Menciummu Sekali Saja, juga ada film Marsinah yang penuh kontroversi karena diangkat dari kisah nyata. Selain itu juga ada film film seperti Beth, Novel tanpa huruf R, Kwaliteit 2 yang turut serta meramaikan kembali kebangkitan film Indonesia. Festival Film Indonesia juga kembali diadakan pada tahun 2004 setelah vakum selama 12 tahun.

Saat ini dapat dikatakan dunia perfilman Indonesia tengah menggeliat bangun. Masyarakat Indonesia mulai mengganggap film Indonesia sebagai sebuah pilihan di samping film-film Hollywood. Walaupun variasi genre filmnya masih sangat terbatas, tetapi arah menuju ke sana telah terlihat.
